Es scheint mir ein nützlicher Hinweis zu sein, den ich gerne hier festhalte. Es geht um einen alternativen Weg, den “SharePoint Products and Technologies Configuration Wizard” zu starten, falls sich dieser nicht normal staren lässt. Nach Updates ist es nötig, diesen zu starten.

Nun denn, was kann man da machen? Einfach mal fleissig weiter Bugs bloggen und hoffen, die sind alle im Service Pack behoben. Oder noch besser: es gibt vor dem Service Pack noch einige Hotfixes, das wär’s.

In den Beschreibungen von “SharePoint Server 2007 hotfix package” (Problem: “cannot crawl case-sensitive Web content” bzw “Images attachments that are contained in links do not appear correctly”) und “Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 hotfix package” (Problem: “The Page is modified. Please reopen it”) leuchtet folgender Absatz wie ein Licht in der Dunkelheit:

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft. However, it is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply it only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 service pack that contains this hotfix.

Irgendwie lese ich da, dass ein Service Pack in abwartbarer Zeit erscheinen wird. Juhui.
